Summer Wedding Trends

Hey y'all! With spring already here, it's time to start brainstorming about your summer plans. Here are the top trends to incorporate in your Summer wedding this year.

GAME ON

Take advantage of the fact that outdoor summer weddings have tons of space, by providing lawn games the whole family will love. Corn-hole, hoola-hoops, bocce ball, bowling, kites, bubbles, and more can provide tons of fun for kids and adults alike and immediately sets a playful tone for celebrating your nuptials.

THE GREAT OUTDOORS

Bring the outdoors straight to you by incorporating a piece of nature around your ceremony or reception to connect to the environment around you. This Southern wedding brought some home-grown sweetness by adding the peaches they love to their wedding tables. Whether you are inside or out, plants can provide pops of color to your venue and is good for the environment too.

COOL OFF

Make sure to keep your guests cool by providing unique popsicles such as refreshing Mojito or delicious strawberry lemonade. They're cute for photo ops and your tastebuds will dance along with you all night. Or you can turn your cocktails into pop-tails, making it great for adults too.

SNAP, CRACKLE, POP!

My favorite thing about summer is getting away from the dreary darks of winter and leaping into the bright colors of the season. One top trend for summer weddings is having bright color schemes or adding pops of color in just the right places. These pinks, yellows, greens, and light blues will pick up the mood and leave you smiling bright.

MISMATCHED MADE IN HEAVEN

If you're flexible with your bridesmaid's dresses, and don't mind letting them take the creative reigns, having mismatched dresses is all the rage. It's lets your ladies' own fantastic style take off and makes your wedding that more fun and beautiful.

SHORT IS THE NEW LONG

Another hot trend this summer is wearing shorter dresses. Cool off with a nice breeze and stay in season with a pretty and carefree ensemble to complement your celebration.

CAMP FIRE SONGS

Those summer nights when its a little cooler are perfect for a warming fire pit, bringing back memories of campfires and summer vacations. Circle the family around to tell stories about the couple and roast a few marshmallows while you're at it. Nothing says romance like cuddling around the fire while the party rages on in the background.

FLIP OR FLOP

Flipflops for Guests Summer Wedding.jpg

The summer months can be tough, especially in warmer southern locations, so prepare yourself and your guests by swapping heels for cheap flip flops to combat the muddy yard and keeping bug spray nearby to scare off potential wedding crashers. They make cute and practical wedding favors.

X MARKS THE SPOT

If you and your loved ones are the super outdoorsy types and you happen to pick a venue near great hiking trails or beach sites, let your guests know the adventures they can get into with map invitations. Share your wonderful wedding news while also pointing out where to spend free time with perfect sunrise hikes. Wedding map invites can of course be customized to fit whatever suits you! What does your group do to get up and go?

SWEETER THAN HONEY

Everyone loves a good party favor, and nothing says summer like fresh fruit and honey. Mix them together and you get a delicious and locally sourced summer favor. Guests will love and appreciate this stroke of sweet genius.

I love summer weddings because there's nothing better than some blue sky and sunny days. Summer provides the perfect canvas for your creativity to paint some sparkle on.

the sparkler
