Your Guide to Partying Pretty: Hair and Makeup Trends

Hello, hello! One of my favorite things about weddings are the details. Even the smallest thing can really add a lot to your event, and there are no details more fun than hair and makeup. I love exploring different hairstyles and makeup methods, so I'm bringing you some of today's trends and my fav looks.

NATURAL MAKEUP

One of the biggest trends this year is going au-natural (or at least making it look like you did) with makeup. With brides like Allie here, a little can go a long way. Some dark lashes, light blush, and pink lips were all it took to highlight Allie's inherent beauty and keep it light and breezy for the Big event.

DUTCH FLOWER BRAID

Another trend making its way across weddings everywhere (and I am totally here for it) is the in-hair flower crown. By braiding beautiful arrangements into your updo, you can combine two amazing wedding details into one awesome hairstyle.

BOLD LIP

Another great look? A super sweet bold lipstick color. Nothing will show off your personality more than a bright lip. Pairing it with more demure eye and face makeup will really make it pop.

But there aren't just great looks for women. Your man can look good too.

MAN-BUN

A hot trend lately has been the popularity of the man-bun. And it doesn't seem to be going away anytime soon. If your groom is sporting some luxurious locks, this updo brings enough chill to a formal look to let his personality shine through.

TOUSLED AND TEXTURED

Another go-to hairstyle for men is the tousled and textured, just-out-of-bed-but-I-still-look-good look. Just add a little product and lot of volume and you've got this classic style. Facial hair doesn't hurt either, so long as you stick to what you're comfortable with.

UNDERCUT

Last but not least, the men's undercut is sooo in right now. It takes a modern spin on a classic style, and this guy's matte slick back makes it even more black-tie appropriate.

All these hair and makeup styles are amazing, but not every one is going to be perfect for you. Stay in your comfort zone, but don't forget to have a little fun with it. No matter what you do, though, you always look beautiful just by being you (and maybe adding a little bit of sparkle).

xo,

the sparkler
