Now Accepting Applications for Spring 2016 Interns!

Illumination Events Studio is a Richmond-based event planning company specializing in Wedding Coordination and private parties, but with aspirations to focus on full-service planning and event styling. Recently featured on the Richmond Weddings Blog, we are growing in our presence both online and in the field, and cannot wait to share this exciting period in our company’s history with a new team of fellow creatives!

Errday for an IES Intern

Each day at Illumination Events Studio is different from the next. We are in constant motion, and thus, our interns will experience a wide range of weekly duties. Some of your tasks may include:

  • Attending networking events to get an industry insider’s perspective
  • Maintaining social media and updating the website
  • Researching competitors & helping to further define our brand
  • Handling proprietary documents
  • Working events and styled shoots

You will have the unique opportunity to show off your logistical savvy and creativity each week.

As a part of the team #LadiesofIlluminationEventsStudio (‘Gents are of course welcome… we can come up with a new hashtag!) your ideas and input will be taken seriously and make a tangible impact for our clients and company rep!

Non-Negotiables

Interns will be expected to work 10-15 hours per week either remotely, at the Short Pump office, or at meet up spots convenient to team members. Attendance at a weekly staff meeting will be required. This opportunity is an unpaid internship, but you will scoop up invaluable real world experience, and college credit to boot.

To be eligible, each candidate must be at least 18 years of age, a current undergraduate or graduate college student taking this internship for credit, and have reliable transportation. Candidates should be available to work occasional weekends. Experience with Squarespace dashboard is preferred and proficiency with spreadsheets is required. While on the job training is granted, preference will be given to candidates who exhibit creativity and excellent problem solving skills.

We want our interns to be fun-loving, hard-working individuals, excited about pretty things, and good at making lists! Ideal candidates will be swift and cool under pressure, and good, nay, great, team players.
